Chamber Showcase

Paragould Center participated in the Paragould Regional Chamber of Commerce 3rd Annual Chamber Showcase. The event was held February 26th at the Paragould Community Center.  Businesses promoted their products in an expo-type setting.  The showcase was a great opportunity for ANC staff to network with other chamber members.  The group attended and participated in the pre-event lunch and motivational session. The event was open to the public and area high school seniors.  ANC employees who participated:  Cindy Burton, Regina Pillow, Pauline Linam, and Wes Pillow. Barbara Baker and Carol Mills helped with the planning but were unable to attend.    Marcus Gragg, an ASU intern working with the Paragould center also participated.  Seventy seven chamber members set up booths employing this year’s patriotic theme.  ANC booth’s theme was “America and Arkansas Northeastern College Rock”.  Alternate interpretations of “rock” were used.  America Rock from the Schoolhouse Rock series provided reminders of historical events.  A rocking chair displayed in front of a patriotic quilt on loan from the Carol Mills collection contrasted with the Rock n Roll attire of the staff.  The ANC booth took third place in the judging.

Welcome (back) to Paragould

Welcome back!  Or ….Just welcome if this is your first semester on our campus.

Didn’t the summer just whiz by?  The Paragould Campus is full of students pursuing their educational goals in very diverse areas!

We have two classes of nursing assistant students who will complete their course in October.  A new class, scheduled to begin October 8 is already filling up.

Practical Nursing and RN students are on campus.

EMT and Paramedic students are meeting at the Adult Ed building.

The Phlebotomy students will be looking for volunteers to “stick” later on.  Please feel free to call and volunteer.  I anticipate the phone lines will all light up….

Truck Driving students are here, when they are not OTR (over the road- for those of you who don’t know truck driving jargon).  We have some spaces available – send us anyone who would like to earn a great salary and travel.

Many of you are taking Survey of Chemistry, Computer Fundamentals, Sociology and Math for Health Sciences in the evenings, as well as being enrolled in some of our on-line courses.

The computer lab is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday until 8 p.m.

Tutoring is available Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3:30 – 5:30.  Other times may be scheduled as needed.
